The Waipukurau Loyal Tavistock Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.U., held its usual fortnightly meeting on Thursday evening in the Oddfellows’ Hall. Bro. Monk, N.G., presided over a good attendance of members. The N.G. welcomed Bro. Geo. Chambers, who had returned wounded from the front, and had been in the Wellington hospital to undergo an operation. The N.G. hoped that the operation would prove successful. Sick pay amounting to £42 was passed for payment. A Druids’ member from Gore was placed on the lodge doctor’s list subject to usual conditions. The halfyearly balance-sheet was presented by the secretary. It disclosed a satisfactory state of affairs, all the funds showing a fair credit balance. Several brethren received their various degrees, and the meeting was brought to a close by the singing of the war hymn.
