PATRIOTIC SHOP.
The continued wet weather experienced of late affected, to some extent, country supplies sent in to the Ladies’ Patriotic Committee’s shop to-day, hut the ladies in charge, Mrs 11. M. Rathhone and Misses Waldrom and Oliver, were kept busy attending to the requirements of customers. Donations were received as follows: Cash. —Messrs 11. M. Rathhone and L. McKay £1 each, M. O’Connor 10s, Mrs Clark ss, Mrs Bott 2s, St. Peter’s Vestry (special donation) £1 Is 4d. Poultry and meat.—Messrs F. H. Oliver (Argyll), Pattison (The Brow), G. Y. Oliver, Waldrom, F. Parker, Mrs C. CLAIRVOYANT IN . TROUBLE. ARREST OF "PROFESSOR” ISHERWOOD. (Per Press Association). HASTINGS, This day. “Professor” Isherwood, spiritualist and clairvoyant, who has been operating in Hastings for three months, was arrested to-day on a charge of obtaining money by false pretences by the sale of alleged medicine to a Maori. Similar charges are pending. Accused was remanded for a week. Bail was fixed at self £4OO, and two sureties of £2OO each.
