BUKOWINA.
WEDGE DRIVEN INTO ENEMY FORCES. A DISORDERLY RETREAT. PETROGRAD, June 21. The Russians have succeeded in dividing General von Pflanzer’s army. One part is near the Roumanian frontier, and the other ii the direction of the Carpathians. The High Commissix er reports:— The Austrian army in the Bukowina has been eut in two. On the Russian front several sectors have been occupied by General Brusiloff. The enemy continues desperate counter-attacks. The enemy’s offensive, commenced north of the Lutsk-Mikwald-Mirvo-linsk road, supported by Germans recently transported thither, broke down under Russian fire. The Russians after a counter-attack in the region of Ragovitch-Lokatehi repulsed the enemy, 1216 being taken prisoner and 8 machine-guns captured. On the extreme left of the front the enemy is retreating in disorder, pursued energetically. The Russians now occupy Zadova, Strungwitz and Giiboka, on the line of the river Sereth.
