Advice has been received that Mr F. W. Stockham has been appointed by the Education Board to act .as relieving teacher at the WaipaWa District High School, in the vacancy caused by the transfer of Miss Burness to Napier. A Press Association mesage from Woodville states that Mr Berkley Tyerman (62) died this morning after a long illness. Deceased was born in London and took a farm at Wanganui twenty-five years ago. For the last ten years he had had a stationer’s business in Woodville. He leaves a widow and four sons—Cuthbert, on active service; Stanley, married; Norman, farming; Harold, chemist, Hastings—-and three daughters, Alice, in the Defence Department; Emily, in a local business; and Mrs Jack Russell, Danevirke. Deceased was a member of various local bodies and a prominent bowler.
