Brewe*, y," Witherow, J. Craig. BY-ELECTION. Cr. Tricklebank wrote resigning his on the Council. —Received. The town clerk read thp result of •he poll, and the Mayor extended a hearty welcome to Cr. Craig, hoping lhat h p would work harmoniously the Council. Cr. Witherow added his rongratulaand Cr. Craig briefly replied, station that he had no fault to find the administration of the Counfjl'* affairs, but be stressed the need I economy at the present stage. I CORRESPONDENCE. GAS COMMITTEE. I The Oas Committee reported as FtTe beg to report that, as authored, we invited applications for the Esition of gas manager, vice Mr W. K Wilkins, resigned, through Mr Kirbnss, Masterton. ■ We recommend for the Council’s Knrovsl the appointment of Mr G. Kris, of the Ashburton gasworks. B, has undertaken to commence Kr on the 25th inst., and Mr WilEihas consented to stav on until tiis ,Bnvll.
