CONFERENCE AT WAIPUKURAU. RULES AMENDED. A conference of delegates from tl« various patriotic committees ol Hawke’s Bay was held at Waipukurau yesterday for the purpose of amend, ing the rules of the Hawke’s Bay War Relief Association. There was i good attendance, Mr Mason Chambers presiding. Mr G. Hunt represented tile Waipawa Committee. As revised the objects of the nsso. eiation were detailed as follow:—(a) to deposit all or any of the moneys in the hand? of the association with any hank or local body in New Zealand and to invest all or anv of such moneys either on short-dated or other investments and securities as may from time to time be determined by tile executive; (2) to relieve and hone, lit wounded, incapacitated, necesnitoiß or deserving soldiers or sailors, nurses, and other auxiliaries, and those in any way dependent upon them, or those dependent upon decern, ed soldiers and sailors and auxiliaries. The expression “soldi™ sailors, and auxiliaries,” to include those who arc, or in any way have been. There was considerable discuasio in respect to the rule constituting ti committees of the various hram societies of the association, and ti following amendment to the propo* rule was passed:—The committee I eacli of the aforesaid branch soeieti* shall be constituted as follows:—!* The committee of the master assod ailed society in the branch social which shall comprise not less thl three nor more than live members; (I two members from each of the otlif associated societies in such brane society; (c) that in case where thei is only one society the committee • such society comprise not less thm three members and not more thu five.
