CENTRAL A. & P. ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meeting’ of the committee of the above was held at the Waipukurau County Council's Chambers on Thursday afternoon. Present—Messrs Geo. Hunter, M.P. (chairman), R. Dougall, J. Donald, J. Winlove, A. Shand, A. C. Prentice, J. Hobson, R. Haldane, W. G. Paterson and E. Broad. • Letters were received from the Young Men's Christian Association, Salvation Army, and the local branch of the Red Cross League, acknowledging donations of £IOO each. The secretary of the Waipukurau Patriotic League also wrote acknowledging receipt of £BOO towards the Wounded Soldiers' Fund.
Messrs H. S. Fitter and Sons wrote re the shipment of 60 carcases of show Jambs by the Tongariro.—Received.
The N.Z. Council of Agriculture wrote re the appointment of a delegate to the annual conference to be held in July.—Mr G. Hunter was appointed. The N.Z. Milking Shorthorn Association asked that the association’s schedule should include a class for milking Shorthorns. —It was decided to refer the request to the incoming committee for favorable consideration. * General statement of receipts and expenditure.—Receipts: General account £647 l‘2s 3d, expenditure £638 13s lOd, credit balance £8 18s sd. Patriotic account.—Receipts £1448 os 3d, collected since May Ist £57; total £1505 5s 3d. Expenditure: £ll9B l‘2s (including donations as above). Credit balance: £306 13s 3d.
It was resolved to donate a further sum of £IOO to the local branch of the Red Cross League. The balance of money to be placed in the Savings Bank, with the secretary and treasurer to operate on the account. Accounts passed at the meeting amounted to £6 13s lOd. The annual meeting of the association it was decided to hold on July 27th.
