In the Appeal Court, io re Pullen, a motion to strike a solicitor i.ff the rpils, the Court held that defendant possibly did not appreciate the gravity of his aot in writing tbe letter oomplained of, but the offence was a grave one and he must be suspended for 12 months and pay ooste.

In Rex v. Dawe, the Auokland tramway manslaughter case, the Court held that the jury’s verdict amounted to finding that prisouer was guilty with a strong recommendation to mercy. The oonviotion was upheld but the Chief Justioe said it was not a case for severe punishment.

In re Knox, an appeal under the Death Duties Aot, the Court held that the commission left to the trustees for their trouble was a legacy and dismissed the appeal, the trustees to pay their own costs and those of the Crown out of their own monies aud not out of the estate.
