Sir, —I have read, re read,. had a night’s sleep, and read again, the letter appearing in your last issue over the signature of “ Thomas Butler,” and still I am unable to fathom the objeot of the writer. The subjects touched upon are : Petitions to the late oounoil, land values, gas-works site, saleyards company, sewer age loan, and night soil, whioh are all so intersected, that with all the education I have had in my school days, I am quite unable to UDravel the mysteries mentioned. The oonoluding paragraph is so worded that I feel sure your many readers will be obliged if “ Thomas Butler ” will further enlighten them I am, &0., Puzzled
