TAVERY male inhabitant of New Zsa _L_J land who, on the Ist day of March, 1911, had attained the age of fourteen years or upwards, but had not attained tbe age of two.ity one, and who is a British snbj« t, and has resided in New Zealand for at l»ast six months, is hereby required before 7 pm. on the 2nd day of June, 1911, to fill in a proscribed form of registration in respect of military training under tbo Dtfouoe Aots, and to post or deliver same to the atoa Ser-geant-Major of the territorial area in which the applicant for registration resides. Forma of registration may be obtaiued at any Post office or Policestation. Failure to comply with this renders the person liable to the following penalties under Defence Act, 1909, Part VII, sections 51 and 62 : “61 (1 ) Every person who, being required to ri gistar under Part VI of this Act, fails to do >o within the time and in the manner proscribed, or who without lawful exou e ( v-ides or fails to render the personal service required of him under that Part, is liable to » fine not exceeding five pounds, and shall not be entitle i to be eurolled as an eleotor under Division 11 of the Legislature Aot, 1908, nor to employment or continuation of employment iu any branoh of tbe Government service. “62. (1.) Every person is liable to a fine not exceeding ten pounds who prevents or attempts to prevent any person in hia employ and required to serve m the Senior Cadets or General Training Section or Territorial Force from rendering the personal reivioe required of him by Part VI. of this Aot, or in any way penalises such last-mentioned person for rendering suoh service, whether by reducing bis wages or deduoting therefrom any money, or by dismissing him from his employment, or in aDy other manner. “ Provided that this seotioD shall not be misconstrued to require any person to pay any person in his employ any wages for the time when he is absent from work for the purpose of being trained under the said Part.” 192 TO THE BURGESSES OF WAIPAWA.
