Arbitration Treaty.
(Received 9.30 a m, To-day) LONDON, April 28 Speaking at a meeting at the Quild hall, supporting tho Anglo • Amerioan Treaty proposals, Sir Joseph Ward said the people of New Zealand Appreciated the striking advance made by President Taft’s proposals upon existing treaties The world had seen hitherto questions of national honour uoiformly omitted from national treaties. This had, too often iu the past, kept the word of promise to the ear, while in tha hour of orisis it was brokeu. It was to ba hoped that tha uudarlying sentiment of the present proposal was genuine and sin oere. The national love for peace was marking the two most progressive ooun tries io the world. Speaking on behalf of New Zealand aud other oversaas dominions, he heartily supported the motion, which was in the interests of tha AugloSaxou raoe and tho world at large
