On behalf of tho residents of Tikokino and Gwavas and Argyll, Mr W. F. Gundrie presented Mr and Mrs Garratt with a solid silver afternoon tea service suitably insoribed, and in a brief speech referred to the kiudnees Mr Garratt had always shown to the children by teaching for many years in the Sunday-sohool, and also bis goodness to those who had been sick and dying. Mr Gundrie referred to the loss that the dietriot would sustain by the departure of Mr Garratt, who had, for many years, rendered valuable service to the community as a member of the fohool oommittt e and domain board, and as one of the trustees of Hampden oemetery. The tea service was a small token of tho esteem his many friends hi Id for Mr Garratt and his wife. Complimentary remarks were also made by Mrs 8. W. Hardy and Mr J. J. Buchanan. Mr Garratt replied in a suitable manner.
