[Per Press Association.] Auckland, This day. A special conterence of the Young Maori Party, at Ohinemuri, was attended by representatives of the East Coast, “•wke’s Bay, Gisborne, and Auckland. A resolution was passed recognising the ‘“portent work doue by the Health Department among the Maoris, and expressed a hope that retrenchment would not impair its efficiency. The Conference approved of the establishment of botnet in various districts, and urged the Msori people to provide land and build“g* luitable for the purpose. It was JMolved that the time bad arrived for • compulsory registration of Maori ‘rths and deaths. It was resolved to ?. 1 £3OO to contest the claims of ehvss as to tha ownership of lakes.
