[Per Press Association.] Christchurch, This day Seen to-day regarding the alleged cablegrams from Mr Fisher, Federal Premier, advising the workers of New Zealand to vote for labour candidates, Mr Thorn said he had received a reply from Mr Reardon saying, “Mistake entirely. Wire reoeived from Victoria labour leader, not federal labour leader.” Mr Thom then telegraphed to Mr Reardon : “I want the absolute truth about Fisher, cable at once.” He also cabled to Mr Prendergase, leader of the Victorian Labour Party, saying: “Did you send Reardon, Wellington, a cablegram urging support of labour candidates here. Urgent.” Mr Thorn said he had taken this course to get at the actual facts as promptly as possible.
