Waipukurau Jockey Club’s Easter Meeting.

The annual meeting of the Waipukurau Jockey Club took plaoe yesterday, when there was a large attendance considering the unpleasant weather. The day, proved fine, however, but the going was very heavy. The fields, with the exception of the Easter Handicap, were fairly good and the racing was well worth witnessing. The sum of £6280 was put through the maohines and five bookmakers plied their calling. The surprise of the day was the victory of Miss Jessie Hunter’s Repute in tho Ladies’ Haudicap. The secretary, Mr W. G Nightiugale, carried out his duties promptly and to the satisfaction of all. Results:— MAIDEN PLATE, Of 76 sovs; second horse 10 sovs, third horse 5 sovs ; 7 furlongs. Mr C.
