Grain Report. Mr F. Pownall, of the New Zealand and Canterbury Farmers’ Co-Op-erative Associations, Wellington, reports us follows, all quotations being f.0.b., port of shipment, sacks free : Oats.—Trade is dormant consequent on future limits not being acceptable to merchants, outside business being feasible only on lower values ruling. Increased cost of farm labor is blocking derogation, but stocks will have to be quitted. B grade Danish list at 2s 6d, 8-Bills 2s 6A, Cartons 2s 7d, Duns 2s Bd, Seeds 2s lid. Wheat—Flour trust has thrown down the gauntlet f<> Australia, and operations for next few months will bo watched with interest. Millers ure stocking lightly, Tuscan and Vel vet first realising 4s Od, fowl feed 4s Bd. Potatoes—Provided growers do not ovurburden markets, brisk consumption existing will ebook further weakening until winter is passed. Whites are steudy at £4 ss. Blues £4 10s. Muizo—Small turnover nt 4s Bd. Barley—Malting quiet 5s 3d, feed Is, Cape 4s 3d. Peas—Partridge active 4s, Split £ls 10s. Bran—Sale and output regular at £5 ss. Pollard.—Hardly obtainable at £7.
