Mr A. Dillon, M.P., was in Waipawt yesterday. Tho death is announced of Mrs Inglii, of Makaretu, at the age of 77 years. Mr und Mrs T. E. Cross > and family will leave Wellington on the 21st imt, lor a holiday trip to Europe. Lord Dudley, the new Governor-Gene-ral of Australia, will leave Vancouver by the Aoraugi on August 14th. Mr J. Harker has been appointed in. speotor of works in connection with tit building of a new bridge at Tamuisi by the Patangata Oounty Council. The death is announoed of a very old Taranaki resident, Mrs Kenyon vho died at New Plymouth on th» 11th instant, in her 88th year. Mr O. Hall, M.P., has been nominated ns a member of the Dannavirke Riding for a seat on the Dannavirke County C juoil. Mr Choate is a candidate fo r tho Mangatoro Riding. The widow of Mr Robert formerly of Christchurch, has bequeathed a fund tc provide pensions for clergy, men in New Zealand upon reaching the ago of 65 and annuities for olergyuien’i widows. The death is announced of Mr Q Morrison, of Kaikoura, at the age oj eighty-seven years. He was boro Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotlaud, and cam, to New Zealand in 1857. Ho bought the Tullooh Mains property, near Kaikoura, and was the first settler to eho« the great capabilities of the Kaikoun swamp land.
