Waipawa Racing Club.

Autumn Meeting.

The autumn meeting of the Waipawa County Raoing Club was held yesterday, and attracted a good attendance, although the deluge of the two previous days deterred many from putting in an appearance. The going, though a trifle heavy, proved wonderfully good, and the lawn boro very little trace of wet. Messrs Merett and Fox put through the sum of £2846, which is £231 more than was put through last November. The fields were good, and some capital finishes were witnessed. Mr Alf. Wood got his fields away on even terms in tho majority of instances, while Mr S. McGreevy, jun., was prompt with his decisions as judge. The Maiden fell to Robin Link, Lord Bobs annexed the Welter, Pantaloon carried Mr IC.ing’B oolours to victory in the Autumn Handicap, and Mrs Crawley gained the judge's verdict in the Disposal Stakes. She was knocked down to Mr Sinclair, of Hatuma, for £26. Robin Link was again successful in the Stewards’ Hack, and Arcadia placed the Scurry to the credit of Mr Grooves. Lord Bobs was not to be denied in the Riversdale Handicap, and Blue River prevailed in the Hack FlyiDg. Mr Christensen provided a first class luncheon, and Mr Pellow had charge of the bars. Also started South Star, followed by Robin Liuk, Reservoir, and Lord Bobs, was the order on passing the stand the first time. At the back, the order was the same, but there Reservoir came down with Whittaker. Ascending the hill, South Star and Lord Bobs were together, with Robin Link alongside. A great race up tho straight ensued, Robin Link catching the judge’s eye by half a length from Lord Bobs, with South Star another half a length away third. Time, lmiu 49 l-6seo. Dividend, £5 Is. Abo started —31 Concussion 7-11. An excellent start saw First Foot away, but Lord Bobs was soon on his track, and took the lead round the back, with First Foot next, while Robin Link was last. Rounding the turn, a great race ensued between Lord Bobs and Robic Link, both changing first and second positions, but the big horse stuck gamely to his work, and Lord Bobs was hailed the winner by half a neck.
