Kaikora District School.

(Own Correspondent) The annual picnio in connection with the Kaikora school, was held in Mr Britten’s paddock on Wednesday. The usual field games were carried on in a spirited manner, and two excellent meals supported the inner man. During the afternoon a large number of races were run among the children, and there were also races for married and single ladies and married and single men. After tea Mr W. White, chairman of the committee briefly addressed the children on the benefits of education, and presented the following prises : Dux of the school.—William McMillin, (Boys’ Own Paper and gold and silver medal, presented by Mr R. After the prizes were distributed cheers were given for the teachers, the ladies’ eommitteo, the school committee, and for Mr Britton for the use of the grounds.
