Cricket. Hawke’s Bay v. Wellington. (Per Press Association) Napier, This day. The first representative match of the season, Wellington v. Hawke’s Bay, was commenced at noon in beautiful weather and on a perfect wioket. Neither province is represented by the full strength. Lusk won the toss for Hawke’s Bay and batted, Hawke and Maoassey opening the batting to the bowling of Upham and Hickey. Hawke was disposed of by Hickey after scoring five. Lusk filled the vacancy, and with Maoassey made a capital stand. The pair at the luncheon adjournment have carried the score to 67. hawke’s bay. —lst innings.
