One of the features of the election in New South Wales was that three members of the Assembly resigned to contest Federal seats. Two, Messrs Lonsdale and Webster, were successful. Iu Viotoria nine members of the Assembly and the Oounoil resigned. Only two, Messrs Trenwith and Grattan Wilson were successful.
