Magistrate’s Court.

MONDAY, 14th December, 1903. (Before Mossrs 8. Johnson, and J. M. O’Connor, Justices). THEFT. Thomas Lindsay and Ronald Jamieson, two recent arrivals from Sydney, who had been looking for work and praying they would not find it, were charged with the theft of boots and a razor. From the evidence it transpired that they were taken on at Mr Rathbone’s shearing shed but after working one day they got tired and were discharged. Being of an inquisitive turn of mind they “ went through " the pockets of several of the shearers and stole the articles mentioned. They were convicted. A fine of L 5 each and costs was imposed, in default two months’ imprisonment.
