Astronomical Notes for the Month.

The Sun enters Virgo on the 23rd of the month. Full Moon on the 9th of the month. Mercury is a morning star towards the end of the month but too close to the sun for observation. Venus is a morning star, rising about three hours before the sun.

Mars is a morning star, rising a little earlier than Venus, but the two planets will be in close neighbourhood at the end of the month.

Jupiter is an ovening star, sotting about 11.30 p.m. Saturn, in Saggitarius, following closely on the track of Jupiter, sets an hour later.

In the early evening the position of the Southern Cross is interesting, lying as it does so far west of due south.
