SPORTING.
The committee of the Waipawa Racing Club will meet in the Empire Hotel, at 8 p.m, to-morrow. Sutherland, the cyclist, has beeh suspended until the end of the year for asking for “ appearance ” money. The effect of this will be to prevent his representing the colony at Paris, and from racing either in Australia or any other country under the jurisdiction of the International Cyclists’ Association until his term of suspension expires. Mr G. L. Sunderland, master of the Hawke’s Bay hounds, writes us:—lt has been decided by the New Zealand Hunt Club Association that hunters racing before May 31st must qualify three times, by June 15th four times. A qualified hnuter of last season will be allowed to race up to May 31st of this season without requalifying, and can have hunter’s certificate issued to him that will hold good up to that date, but for any races after that date he must requalify, as set out in the first paragraph.
