A shot had been prepared when one of the miners, named Curry, failed to get ioto the bucket but clung to the ring at the bottom and was hauled Hp some 80 feet when be lost bia hold and fell to the bottom of the shaft. Just as the unfortunate man struck the bottom the Bhot exploded and the body was fearfully mangled. (Received 10.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, This day The ship Ancaios fell in with the derelict ship Gowenbank in mid ocean. The latter was coal laden from Barry to Iquique, in Peru. She was dismasted and abandoned. It is supposed that the crew were picked up by a passing vessel.
