Magistrate’s Court.

THIS DAY. (Before Mr A. Turnbull, S.M.) CIVIL C'SE. Nash v Pram, claim for £3 19s 6d. Judgment by default for amount claimed, with costs £1 4s. CRIMINAL. Carl L upoid was charged with disobeying an order of the Court, made in March 1894, to pay 8i a week towards the support of his wife. Mr L o o appeared for accused, who said that although bo had been as far as Auckland ho had not been ablo to get any employment. He ha l not earned any money since tho order was made. Lie expected to get work wool classing in about two months’ time, when lie was willing to pay. In answer to the Bench, ho said he was unable to obtain sureties. Hi 3 Worship said it was a diffi cult case to deal with, but as accused had loft tho district when tho order was first made against him and could not find sureties, he had no option but to send him to gaol. He would bo sentenced to two months’imprisonment ia Napier gaol.
