The returning officer has kindy furnished us with full details of the voting which took place on Saturday last on tho question of raising a loan of £12,000 for expenditure on public works in tho County of Waipawn. It thcro is any district that lias cause to hide its head in slmmc and blush for its ignorant and bigoted prejudices, it is Norsewood riding. It would reveal a sickening melee of local jealousies and selfish and short-sighted and greedy motives were wo to writo all that wo know concerning the opposition which Norsewood and Ormondville have shewn to the loan pioposals. But we spare the sensible residents in those two places the pain of seeing their less intelligent neighbors exposed. A glanee at the table which we published on Saturday will shew that Norsewood is tho most liberally treated riding in the county. A word of credit must bo given where it is due, for the careful and correct manner in which the loan proposals have been sot on foot and carried through. The county chairman, the county clerk, the county returning officer, and all the members of tho council have followed the provisions of tho Act most minutely and their efforts are rewarded by one of the most complete victories that have ever been recorded.
