Per United Press Association. Auckland, This day. Proceedings are to be taken against Gibbons in connection with the tiro at Gibbons Cooperage, Onelumga. Ostrich farming will shortly bo started north of Auckland. Fifty-six ostriches being brought by a specially chartered ship from Cape of Good Hope at a cost including export duty of £12,000. A fire supposed to have been caused l>y chemical explosion occurred at Messrs Kemplhorne Prosser and Co.’s. The lire was extinguished before much damage was done. The fumes of the muriatic and sulphuric acid seriously affected several firemen.
