KAIKOKA MECHANICS’ INSTITUTE

A meeting of the above Committee was held on Thursday evening, the 21 at May. Present—Messrs Tod (president), Merrylees, Symmons, Watts, Dillon, PopplewelJ, White and Venn. The Minutes of the former meeting were read and confirmed. Proposed by Mr Dillon, seconded by Mr Tod, that the Committee accord a vote of thanks to Mr Merrylees for his kindness in getting up the bite concert.— Carried. Proposed by the president, seconded by Mr White, that the thanks of the committee be gratefully tendered to those ladies and gentlemen who so kindly gave their assistance at the concert.— Carried. Proposed by Mr Merrylecp, seconded by Mr Watts, that Mr Henouf’s tender for lining the Library building be accepted.—Carried. It was resolved that the “ English Illustrated Magazine” and the “ N.Z. Times” be discontinued, and the “ Nineteenth Century” he taken instead.
