WAIPUKURAU PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH ANNIVERSARY.

The anniversary service of the above church was conducted by the Rev. R. Fraser, M.A., on Sunday morning last. There was a very good attendance. A suitable and impressive discourse was preached from the text, “ Who is on the Lard’s side ?” On Tuesday, 21st, a gift auction was held, when a number of horses and cattle, a Berkshire boar, farming implements, a gate, some valuable fowls, various articles of saddlery, and nicknacks of every description, from a baby’s dress to a perambulator, were put under the hammer. There were also several valuable pieces of furniture sold. A very fair number of bidders were present, and, on the whole, the prices realised were good. Mr Coward, of Waipawa, kindly acted as auctioneer.

A tea meeting was held at six o’clock in the Town Hall, but up to the time of going to press we had not received our report of same. It will appear in our next issue.
