Napier, per afternoon train, at 3.30 p.m. Onga Onga, Wednesday and Saturday at 10.20 a.m. Returns on Wednesday and Saturday at 3.10 p.m. Hampden, Tuesday and Friday, at 10.30 a.m. Tamumu, Saturdays, at 11 a.m. Returns on Tuesday at noon. Waipukurau, Takapau, and Kopua on Tuesday. Thursday, and Saturday at 9.20 a.m. PER OVERLAND ROUTE. Waipukurau, Takapau, Kopua, Norsewood, Danovirke, Tahoraite, Woodville, Palmerston North, Foxton, and Wellington close on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9 a.m. sharp. Return mails per overland route arrive at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. J. H. WEAVER, Postmaster.
Earthquake. —A very sharp shock of earthquake was felt here on Thursday morning about 2.25 a.m. It appears to have been very generally experienced in the southern portion of the Island.
Good News. —Heads of families will l>o glad to see Mr Britten’s advertisement id another column, announcing hie intention to reduce the price of meat.
