ST. ANDREW'S SPORTING ACTIVITIES

St Andrew's Tennis Club closed its season on Saturday, when the four courts were fully occupied in spite of the unfavourable weather. The new courts played very well, and are a great aquisition to the club. During the afternoW tea adjournment, the president, the Rev, K. Liggett, presented trophies as follows: —Ladies' Championship Singles, Miss M. Henson; Men's Championship Singles, Mr G. Sutton; Handicap Combined Doubles) Mrs D. Calvert and Mr G. Sutton. BADMINTON AND TABLE TENNIS Table Tennis is now under way at St Andrew's, and the opening recently was well attended. Fve tables were in use for a Yankee tournament, the winners of which were Mrs R. Allen and Mrs S. Philip. The Banminton Club opene/l on Saturday evening, the Rev K. Liggett serving the first shuttle, which was returned by the Rev V. Maddick. The club is looking forward to a good season, and has several new members. Bandminton will be played on Tuesday and Saturday nights and table tennis on Tuesday ano. Thursday nights. Indoor Bowling At the Annual meeting of the St Andrew's Indoor Bowling Club held recently, the following officers were elected:— President, Rev. Kenneth Liggett; Vice President, Mr E. Haydon; Committee, Messrs J. Linsley, L. Dix, W. Sinton, J. Orrock, W. Harris; Match Committee, Messrs W. P. Cummings, J. Linsley, J. Orrock; Delegates to Waikato Indoor Bowling Centre, Messrs P. R. Graham, W. P. Cummings; Hon. Sec. and Treas. Mr W. P. Cummings. A report on the past year's activities showed that .the Club experienced a successful season. The Davis and Haydon Cups produced keen competition, both being won by J. Linsley. Interelub visits were paid to St John's Club, Te Awamutu and -Trinity Club Cambridge and both clubs made return visits to St Andrew's. A successful one day tournament held in October attracted entries from Te Awamutu, Morrinsville and Hamilton. A challange Cup has been obtained for interclub comy)etition between St John's Te Awamutu and St Andrew's Cambridge and will be competed for at an earlv date.
