DANGEROUS PRACTICE

CHILDREN ON TRACTORS COMMENT AT INQUEST At the adjourned inquest yesterday into the death of Malcolm Gordon Vagg, 21-months old son of Mr and Mrs Gordon Vagg, of French Pass, which occurred on Mr Vagg's farm on Monday, September 21, the coroner, Mr R. S'. Entwistle, recorded a verdict that the deceased died from a fracture of the neck and of the base of the skull caused through a fall from a farm tractor being operated by his father, Gordon James Vagg. Both the medical evidence and the comment of the Coronerj emphasised the dangerous practice of young children being allowed to ride on tractors, bulldozers and farm machinery. This comment which will be more fully published on Friday, is being forwarded to the Department of Justice.
