BASKETBALL
WAIKATO TEAM’S SUCCESS In the second grade event at the Dominion basketball championships at Nelson, Waikato won all games except against Tauranga and became the holders of the Hayhurst Cup. Tauranga went through without a loss to win the President’s Shield. . The senior grade championship was won by Cantei’bury, and Nelson won the third grade.
