“THE LONG MIRROR”
In the town hall tomorrow night the Community Art Service will present the Group Players in J. B. Priestley’s three-act phantasy “The Long Mirror.” This is an excellent entertainment being provided for the people of Cambridge at the lowest possible price. . J. B. Priestley, though one of Britain’s best known novelists and dramatists, has more recently been in the limelight through his outspoken talks from the 8.8. C.
Priestley’s most interesting characteristic as a dramatist in his willingness to experiment. More recently plays of his “Johnson Over Jordan” and “They Came to a City,” show that his desire to explore new dramatic forms has not diminished.
“The Long Mirror,” the last and best of his phantasies, shows ids experiments in their most mature form. In an isolated spot in Wales two people, whose past lives have been strangely bound together, meet and discover a relationship they were not aware of before.
