SPORT POSTPONED MANY OFFICIAL OPENINGS’ MARRED After a period of typical fine Spring weather the weather advisers on Fridays the weather advisers on Fribe expected on Saturday and they were quite correct in their prediction. Durign the night rain developed and gusty showers on Saturday morning were so persistent that tennis arid bowling in Cambridge had to be abandoned, while the same applied in'other parts of the Waikato. . There was no bowling on Saturday at the greens of the Cambridge and Leamington greens and official openings in the Waikato were marred. Cambridge district bowling teams were invited to attend the Putaruru Club’s official opening. Actually this club did hold the official part of the season’s opening, but there was no play.

Yesterday a few players were “rolling up” on the Cambridge and Central Cambridge greens.

The Leamington Club will hold its official opening next Saturday.
