SHIELD MATCHES COMPLETED HIGH SCHOOL “A” SUCCESSFUL In the concluding matches in the Cambridge Basketball Association’s shield competition on Saturday at the domain courts, results were:— “A”.grade: High School A. 29 beat Combines 2; Leamington 12 beat Karapiro United 10; Old Girls (2) 6 beat Combines 4; Leamington 12 beat Old Girls (1) 7; Waikato Hydro 16 beat High School B. 9; Karapiro United 22 beat Old Girls (1) 12; High School A. 19 beat Old Girls (2) 17; Waikato Hydro 25 beat Karapiro United 11.
“B” grade: Blues 30 beat Green 3; Girl Guides 13 beat Primary B 11; Leamington A. 16 beat Reds 13; Golds a bye.
Season’s Points.
High School “A” won the “A” grade shield, Waikato Hydro being runner-up. High School “Blues” won the “B” grade shield with “Gold” the runner-up.
Points gained in shield matches are as follows.—“A” grade: High School A. 37, Waikato Hydro 33, Old Girls (2) 22, Karapiro United 19, Old Girls (1) 14; Convent 10, High School B. 10, Business Girls 10, Tuis 5, Combines 2. «B” grade: Blues 22, Gold 17, Leamington A. 15, Red 14, Girl Guides 10, Greens 4, Primary B. 0. Next Saturday Cambridge A. reps, and Cambridge High School A. will travel to Tauranga to compete in the Tauranga Association’s annual closing day tournament.
