the best of play, Leamington was not slow to advantage of opportunities. Tries for the Winners were 'scored by R. Arnold (2) and Bartlett, R. Arnold converting one. S'earle and Watt scored for Leamington, Fletcher converting one. Securing a feast of the ball, Hautapu easily defeated United in the final, the latter team's back line securing practically no oportunities. Kelly, Hogan and White scored for the winning team, R. Arnold and A. Arnold each converting a try. An outstanding feature of this game was the resolute defence of Ozich, who showed that the most formidable of Kiwis is vulnerable to a well-judged low tackle. Credit is due to the Leamington side whiph, by fielding two teams in the last week of the season, proved that keenness and team spirit is apparent amongst its officials and players.

Junior honours went to the Hautapu A. side, but only after extra time had been played in the final against Hautapu B. United was unlucky when a dropped pass cost the team a certain try and probable victory in the semi-final. An outstanding effort in this series was a bi-illiant try for Hautapu B. by S. Keilly, who fielding the ball on defence, beat the whole United B. team to score under the posts. Hautapu has been the outstanding junior team of the season.

High School A. won the third grade convincingly. In both games, it was clearly the better team. A grand try went to the credit of Lee, a Hautapu B. player in the first round, when he ran the length of the field to score his side's only try. Fourth grade honours went to Hydro, which scored two well-merited victories.

The tournament was efficiently conducted by Messrs C. Wallace and H. Kirkman and proved a decided success. It is to be hoped it will be carried on annually. Detailed results were:—

Seniors. —First round: United beat Hydro, 3 —o; Leamington A. beat Hydro by default; Hautapu beat Leamington 8.,11 —0. Second round: Hautapu beat Leamington, 11—8; United a bye.
