HAUTAPU SCHOOL

THE ANNUAL PICNIC OUTING AT BROADMEADOWS The Hautapu School held its annual picnic recently in the beautiful grounds of Mr and Mrs C. Potts, of Broadrheadows. The weather was kind to the picnickers and the many people who arrived at the picnic site were evidently out for enjoyment. Many and varied were the races and clock golf proved a great attraction. Ice cream was. given to one and all while the smaller children revelled in that old attraction—a lolly scramble. After afternoon tea was served Mr T. Hargreaves, the chairman, thanked Mr and Mrs Potts for the use of their lovely grounds and a senior girl, Yvonne Hollier, presented a small, gift in the form of a box of chocolates to Mrs Potts. Thus ended another pleasant social function in connection with the Hautapu school. The chief races were as follows: Toddlers’ race: Patricia Lawry 1, Pauline Keates 2.
