Leamington Town Board. On Wednesday next the Leamington Town Board will hold its monthly meeting at 7.30 p.m. Airmen Return. On Saturday morning last we received advice through the local Bank of New South Wales that the five banks in Singapore have re-opened for business as from the first of the month. The five banks are: Chartered Bank of India, Australia and China, The Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Co-operation, Mercantile Bank of India Ltd., The Eastern Bank Ltd., The National City Bank of New York. State Rental Houses. The 50 per cent, allocation scheme, under which half of all completed and available State houses and flats are set aside for the needs of ex-service-men, provided a further 177 houses to help meet these needs during the month of August. This information is contained in the monthly review of the Rehabilitation Board, which adds that the total number allocated to the end of August was brought to 3,805. State houses have been allocated to ex-servicemen in the various districts as follows, the number of parentheses being that for August only: Auckland, 1144 (53); Hamilton, 289 (9); Napier, 19G (5); New Plymouth, 108 (4); Wellington, 1306 (78); Nelson, 74 (3); Cliristchurch, 372 (14); Dunedin, 234 (8); Invercargill, 82 (3);. total, 3805 (177).
