GOLF OPENING
HORAHORA CLUB - / OFFICIAL OPENING HELD The Horahora Golf Club opened its 1945 season on Saturday last under windy, but fine, conditions. In the unavoidable absence of Mr C. H. La Trobe, Club President, Mr W. G. Russell, secretary, welcomed the visitors and declared the season open.
Mixed Canadian foursome were then played over 9 holes. The winners were: H. Osborne (jnr.) and Mrs Brown (Avapuni), 51-12,39, who won on a count v back from A. A. Burr and Mrs Kite (Arapuni) 514239.
The course was in excellent order due to the enthusiastic efforts of Mr A. Meeking, club captain, and two well attended working bees.
