NEW SERVICE
HORAHORA TO CAMBRIDGE PETITION TO TOWN BOARD The proposed new passenger-carry-ing service from Horahora to Cambridge via Karapiro Hydro and Leamington, was mentioned at the general meeting of the Chamber of Commerce on Thursday evening last. It was stated that a largely-signed petition had already been presented to the Leamington Town Board. The proposal is for a daily service to and from Horahora on the Maungatautari side, stopping en route and particularly at the Karapiro Hydro and through Leamington. It was stated that it was the proposal of the applicant for the service to put on a 32-seater 'bus.
Messrs N. Campbell and W. H. Allen moved that the application be strongly supported by the Chamber.
Mr C. R. Haworth advocated that during the hours the driver would be waiting in. Cambridge for the return trip each afternoon he should be urged to further apply for a permit to run a daily service along Victoria Road. Mr Haworth considered such a service would be well supported. The motion, with this addition, was carried unanimously.
