Constable G. 1). T. Pearce, who was recently appointed to the Karapiro Hydro Works, commenced his duties yesterday. Constable Pearce was tranferred from Bruce Ray, South Westland. Mr Mervyn Wells was heartily congratulated on bis 33 years’ .successive membership of the Waikato Licensing Committee at a meeting of the Committee at Te Awamutu, on Friday last. The congratulations, on behalf of the committee, were extended by the chairman, Mr S. L. Paterson, S.M. Mr Paterson spoke of the great assistance Mr Wells had always been to the committee.
