LEAMINGTON TOURNAMENT
WIN FOR MATANGI A most enjoyable one-day rinks tournament was held by the Leamington Club on Saturday, when 18 teams took part, including a large number of visiting teams. Five rounds were played, and the winners were Matangi (Teague, Baird, F. Keeley,* and Middlemiss) with 5 wins and no losses. The green was in good order, though heavy from over-night rain. Prior to commencing play the teams were welcomed by the president (Mr George Waite).
Teams to win three or more games were: Matangi, 5 wins, no losses; .Cambridge (Broad, C. Hooker, Ryan, and White), 4 wins, 1 loss; Cambridge (Clark, Clow, Burton, W. Low), 4 wins, 1 loss; Cambridge '(Scott Bnindle, Boulton, Mclvor); 4 wills, 1 loss; Ohaupo (Smillie, Somerville, Guy, Elliott), 4 wins, 1 loss; Cambridge (A. Smith, Bromwich, Wood, Dix), 3 wins, 2 losses; Leamington (Waite, Cummings, Lowe, Walker), 3 wins, 2 losses; Leamington (Hail, Morrow, Paton, Brackenridge), 3 wins, 2 losses: Leaington (Ward, Brazendale, Trott, Green). 3 wins, 2 losses: Cambridge (E. Hall, Edwin James, Meanie, Curtain), 3 wins, 2 losses.
