A Thought For The Week

(Contributed). “Worry is public enemy number one. It is a killer and one which firstly takes an appalling toll of both physical and mental vitality. Worry and fear are twin sisters. Between them they have wrecked more lives than sickness or war. You are urged never to entertain them or they will wreck ‘yoiir’ life.” Most of us realise the truth of these facts, and yet how many of us are to some extent at least subject to the habit. And at times, ; no matter how hard we try, yet again and again we find ourselves giving way to’ worry and despair. The trouble is that we so often try the wrong things. “I have tried and tried,” said a man to his friend, “and yet I can see no way out. I do not know where to turn or what to do.” “Have you ever tried the ‘Prayer Way’?” quietly asked the friend. But he hadn’t thought of that. How like most of us. And yet that is the very remedy God prescribes. “Be careful for nothjng, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God., And the pesice of God-.-. . . shall keep your > heartland minds through Christ JJpsus.V Prayer, Praise and Trust a£e a neverfailing remedy for worry and fear. The Glory of the ChVistiari- faith is that we Lave a Saviour in Christ our Lord. We have a Father whose ear is ever open,To the cry of His children. He hears and answers prayer. Friend, when the perplexities of life come .powding into your heart. When the'sto’rms ; threaten to overthrow your barque. When you are tempted to worry and despair. Try the Prayer Way.
