Baltic to Black Sea by Water. — It is now possible for barges to go entirely by water across the Continent from the Baltic to the Black Sea following the completion of the Canal from Kiev to Brest-Litovsk. More than 200,000 men worked on the canal, which is described as an important trade route between Germany and Russia.
