Week-end Rain.— Heavy showers have made conditions unpleasant in Cambridge during the week-end, but the amount of rainfall was much less than in other parts of the Waikato. On Saturday the rainfall was .39in., Sunday .46in., and yesterday .28in., a total of 1.14 in. The fall so far this month is 2.34 in.

Farm Statistics.—ln conversation with an Independent representative, this morning, Constable C. H. Maisey stated that a number of farmers had not yet handed in their agricultural and pastoral statistics, which are now overdue. He said that the registration of factories was another matter needing immediate attention by those who had not renewed their licences.

Schools Resume.—Schools in the Auckland Education Board's district will reopen today for the second term. The regulations allow children who will reach the age of five years during the second term to commence school at the beginning of that term in order to avoid inconvenience to teachers by children commencing school at various times during the year.

Tattooing Revived —War time has brought a revival of tattooing. Many recruits in the armed forces stationed at Wellington have recently acquired patriotic or fanciful designs on wrists or forearms, although the more elaborate works of art formerly etched on chests and backs seem out of favour with the present generation.
