Petrol Thieves. —Once again the menace of the petrol pilferer is being felt in Tauranga, and several motorists have reported that their cars have received an unwelcome visit by these sneak thieves, states the "Bay of Plenty Times." Where possible, motorists are warned to use the safety lock on the petrol tank, or if this is not possible take the precaution of having as little benzine in the tank as possible overnight.

Celebrity Concerts. —Twp celebrity concerts held in the Town Hall, Wellington, recently, in aid of the National Patriotic Fund, were freely acknowledged as a splendid success musically, and the accounts showed that they were equally successful on the financial side. The net proceeds of the concerts amounted to £569 18/2, the whole of which goes to the National Patriotic Fund.
