SUMMER GOLF

PROGRESS OF COMPETITION POSITION OF THE PAIRS The summer competition! being played by members of the Cambridge Golf Club is drawing to a conclusion, after having added considerably to the interest during the past four months. There are twelve games to be played by each pair, and most of them haye been completed.

Owing to sickness and members leaving the district, several pairs found it necessary to pull out. It is understood that any games that they played will not be counted by their opponents.

Main interest now centres in the games played by D. McCathie and M. Wells, who have had 8 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw, and A. H. Nicoll and A. J. Law, with 7 wins, 0 losses and 2 draws. E. Morrice.and S. Holdgate have the next best record with 5 wins, 3 losses and 1 draw.

Assisted by the wet weather, the links have never been in better condition than they are at present. A return has been made to the proper greens and a start has been made to cut back the growth in the rough.

The club should enjoy another excellent season, although the membership may be less than last year. The prospects will be reviewed at the annual meeting, which takes place next Tuesday evening.
