RUGBY CONTROL
FIXTURES FOR SATURDAY TE AWAMUTU V. CAMBRIDGE The weekly meeting of the Cambridge Rugby Union was held last evening when the president, Mr D. Bourke, presided over a fair attendance. The Waipa Union is to be invited to send a senior team to Cambridge to play a local senior team on Saturday. The third grade curtainraiser will be between Leamington and Hautapu-United at 1.15 p.m. The meeting decided to stage a big benefit day on Saturday, 23rd September, to include fancy dress matches and other attractions, with a dance in the evening when trophies will be presented. All trophies at present held are to be handed in to the secretary immediately. Part of the proceeds of the day will be donated to the St. John Ambulance Division and to patriotic funds. There will be no football on Saturday, 16th September, the day the Fijian team play Waikato. , The following is the Cambridge junior representative team to play Waipa at Te Awamutu next Saturday for the Boyce Cup: Forwards: H. Arnold (captain), S. Frazer, T. Chard, H. Hubert, K. Arnold, A. Vickers, A. Ramsay, R. Jones, H. Fostrom, A. Fell. Backs: P. Shaw, F. Jones, G. Bartlett, H. Guigan, R. Arnold, A. Sutherland, G. White, R. Buttimore, L. Broderson.
The Cambridge seniors to play next Saturday are: Haworth, Charlton, Turei, Baxter, B. Watt, B. Trubshaw, R.' Russell, A. Nicholl,.R. Watts, M. Hewitt, Weir, T. Niels,' J. McGovern, W. Pye, J. Williams, K. Farmer, I. Nicholl, C. Boyce, T. Beer, A. Pennell.
